Arras 1.6 has been a big hit.
However, we’ve found a few more bugs…. and fixed them!
Most noticeably, the custom logo (if you happened to have one) was not appearing in the header.
Introducing Arras 1.6.1
This maintenance release brings you up to speed with the few odds and ends that didn’t make it into the original 1.6 release.
Enjoy!

Good
the Downlink is arras 1.5.5….
Apologies. It’s been fixed now.
I´ve updated to 1.6.1, but when I choose arras options in wordpress it says that is 1.5.2. Is something wrong?
Thank you
Have you reset your browser cache (shift-reload)?
Thanks Caspar, it was that !!
Another question… before updatint I had an image as background. Is it possible to do that at arras 1.6.1?
I can´t found how to do it
To use an image in the header section go to Appearance > Header. To use an image background in the content area go to Appearance > Background.
Sorry Caspar, I can´t find that options.
Is that an option of arras theme or wordpress? I´m using an old version of wordpress (3.3.1) … I know, I have to update as soon as I can
Thanks
Yes, you will have to update WP to get those options. You need at least WordPress 3.4 to have the custom header and background options available. (But you should keep your WordPress up to date for lots of other reasons too
)
Thanks Caspar !!!
I will update wordpress as soon as I can knowing that arras is now working perfectly with wordpress 3.9.1
It was the main reason to not do it before.
And sorry for the mistakes. English is not may mother language.
Thanks for all again !!
Thanks for a great theme! Keep it coming!
Hello,
I am trying to use this Theme but I ahve issue with stiles in IE11. In basic configuration there is white backgrounf in header. In chrome bacground is black. I have WP 3.9.1 and arras 1.6.1. I used that theme 3 years ago. now i found two versions?http://www.arrastheme.com/ and https://arrastheme.net/ which is right version?
Not sure why you’re getting a white background in IE11 unless you have settings left over from when you used the theme previously. Make sure the box for Appearance > Arras Options > Design > “Custom Header Color” is blank. You may have to “Reset Settings” to clear out any old settings, especially if you’re upgrading from a very old Arras version.
As for which version to use… It appears that the previous developer, Melvin Lee, has re-activated his website. (Up to very recently, it just said, “It’s been a good run. We’re not doing this theme any more.”) The Download link on http://www.arrastheme.com connects to Version 1.5.3-RC1 on GitHub.
1.5.3-RC1 was built for WP 3.0, and is now two years out of date. It started having issues when WP 3.8 was released. Most notably, the slider stopped working properly on many installations. It also has code that will become completely unsupported starting with Version 4.0.
If Mr. Lee has decided to resume development of Arras, we welcome his renewed interest and will gladly defer to him in any upcoming releases he may have in mind. However, until he updates his version we recommend using 1.6.1 that can be found here.
Problem is not in Arras Theme. I have it configured in Hyper-V and it running on CentOs 6.4. Problem is that in mz testing environement i have used just netbios name in URL. So IE has got problem with it. When use FQDN everything is OK. thanks for your time.

Thank you very much Caspar !! Keep it coming, this theme is so beautiful and very good for optimize and SEO
Hello ! I think this theme is almost great, but however, it isn’t available for mobile, that’s right? How can i fixed this problem? Thanks
That’s correct. Unfortunately, Arras is not mobile-ready.
Version 1.6.1 simply brought the old Arras theme up to date for use with WP 3.9 and 4.0 after a lapse in development with the former developer. We added a couple minor features, but making Arras mobile-ready was a bigger project that will have to wait until the next major release.
is version 1.6.1 is working on wordpress 4.0 ?
Arras 1.6.1 should work on WordPress 4.0
Hi Sir, I would like to ask on how to upgrade my arras from 1.5.5 to 1.6.1. Thank you.
Regards,
Carlo
First, export the theme settings (Arras Options > Tools), “just in case.”
Second, if you have any custom CSS in your user.css file, make a local copy of that file.
Third, install the “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” plugin by Chris Jean.
Fourth, download the Arras 1.6.1 version, then install from WordPress: Appearance>Themes>Add New>Upload Theme. The upgrade plugin will give you an option to “Upgrade Existing Theme.” Select yes.
Now you should have the new version installed with all the settings already in place.
If you have a custom copy of the user.css file you saved earlier, copy it back to your Arras Theme folder, and you should be good to go.
Hope it works out!
Thank you… I will try but still I need your guidance on it Sir. Again thank u
Sir where can I download “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” . Thank you…
In your WordPress Admin, go to Plugins > Add New. Then search for “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades.” You should be able to install and activate it from there.
Oh I see thank you, before I upgrade what is custom css? I really need to upgrade because as I’ve observe I can’t change my header title hope this version will resolve the issue. Thank you Sir.
Your header title (if you mean the main site title at the top of each page) isn’t a theme issue. It’s controlled from your Settings > General admin page. If you had a designer/developer customize anything on your site, you should get in touch with that person for help, since some of what they did may be impacted by the upgrade, and it’s not possible for me to know those changes in order to advise you.
Is there a roadmap for Arras?
Any date for the next release and what features it will include?
Thanks for bringing Arras back to life
I just updated from 1.5.2 to 1.6.1 today…. WordPress 4.1 installed as well.
Unable to see my Tagline that used to reside immediately under my logo. It is defined but does not show?
thanks in advance,
Thanks for your note. This is indeed a bug. We’ll put together a patch this week.
